In 2007 CSI SE was retained to perform the extensive façade and plaza restoration to the Points of America I, a prominent and prestigious condominium property located at the channel entrance to Fort Lauderdale Harbor.
At 25 stories and over 300-ft in height, CSI SE utilized Fracoplatforms to meet the 2 year schedule and accomplish the full exterior façade restoration which included the following work:
7,364 LF of balcony edge concrete repairs
1,800 CF of concrete column and beam repair.
17,000 SF of stucco repairs
1.8 million lbs. of demolition and removal of the
existing precastconcrete rail system
19,000 LF of new hurricane resistant aluminum rail with glass paneling
Upon completion of the façade repairs, all exterior concrete surfaces received a 3 coat paint application
while all balcony top surfaces were treated with a polyurethane non slip wearing coat.
At the main plaza, restoration services to the pool and underground garages consisted of 15,000 SF of hot waterproofing in the planter areas, extensive shoring and structural concrete rib repair in the garages and a complete renovation of the swimming pool interior. Upon completion of this work, the exterior traffic plaza areas, totaling 100,000 SF, were prepared and coated with a polyurethane non-slip wearing application.
