CSI was contracted to perform the Design-Build Roof Replacement and Repair project to Building 1 of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
The project consists of the design and construction of various roof replacements including PVC, EPDM, Built-up-Roofing, Slate, Copper, and Standing Seam Metal to Buildings 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, and 1F of this historic facility.
This roofing work will also include the replacement of the associated through-wall and stepped flashings and necessary terminations. The masonry elements requiring restoration include the parapets, chimneys, and ornate balustrade walls. The design and construction will also include the restoration of the ornate cupola located at the peak of Building 1A.
Since the early 1900's the historic cupola of Building 1A has been the most recognized structure of this facility, overlooking countless soldiers as they sought after treatment of the wounds they sustained in their battles for our freedom. The Walter Reed Army Medical Center is a highly recognized historic landmark which CSI is proud and honored to preserve and restore.
