Concrete Repair and Restoration

The Best Process, People & Equipment For Every Project

United States Coast Guard Hangar No. 3170

Owner:       United States Coast Guard Engineering Unit

Location:   Buzzards Bay, MA

Engineer/Architect:  USCG Civil Engineering Unit

Located at the US Coast Guard Base on Cape Cod, Hanger No. 3170 was in need of concrete repair and restoration.

CSI was awarded the contract to make repairs to the existing precast concrete columns and subsequent application of clear sealer. Staging was erected with protective tarps to reduce the chances of debris from exiting the work space and causing damage to the intakes of jet engines. During the demolition process and at the end of each day demo debris was collected and placed in dumpsters away from the work area. Patching consisted of chipping around heavily reinforced post tensioned concrete columns and beams, forming and placing repair mortar.

Weather delays did not deter the team from completing the work within the project schedule and within budget.
