Galt Towers Plaza/Pool/Parking Deck RestorationOwner: Galt Towers Condominium Association
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
Engineer/Architect: B.P. Taurinski / Structural Engineers
Project consisted of removal of existing pool and parking deck finishes, including waterproofing, pavers, and demolition of planters, followed by structural repairs, and installation of new waterproofing and finish systems (hot-applied rubberized asphalt, urethane deck coating, expansion joints, new planters, drains, and pavers.)
CSI-SE was awarded this project after the bidding process, based not only on realistic pricing, but also on having presented a complete project schedule up front, plus providing Valued Engineering concept options and alternates, along with their values, for items others had left out or not considered.
The 55,000 sq. ft. +/- concrete deck had been improperly prepped and coated over the years, causing extensive deterioration and spalling of the concrete. This condition was noted by careful examination prior to bidding, and CSI was already prepared for the extra and unusual steps required to bring the deck back to a warrantable condition, including thousands of square feet of spall repairs.
Additional work around the building and property was added to our contract based on the quality and scheduling of our work, fair pricing, and a willingness to work with the customers needs.
